Availio collects personal information you provide directly when registering an account, creating a listing, or making a booking. This includes your full name, email address, mobile phone number, government-issued ID details, profile photo, and payment transaction records. We also automatically collect technical data such as device type, IP address, browser type, pages visited, and in-app activity logs to operate and improve our services. Location data may be collected when you use map-based search or pin a store location, subject to your device permissions. During an active rental, if the booking is marked Ongoing and you enable Active Rental Protection in the installed Android app, Availio collects your precise device location in the background, including when the app is closed, the screen is locked, or the app is not in use. This background collection is limited to the Ongoing rental period and is not used for advertising.
We use your personal data to: (a) create and manage your account; (b) process, confirm, and manage rental bookings; (c) verify provider identity and business legitimacy; (d) send transactional notifications (booking confirmations, status updates) via email and SMS; (e) calculate and process platform commissions; (f) prevent fraud, misuse, and unauthorized access; (g) comply with applicable laws and regulations in the Republic of the Philippines; and (h) improve our platform through analytics. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
We share your data only to the extent necessary to provide our services: (a) Booking details (name, contact, pickup info) are shared between renters and providers to fulfill the rental agreement; (b) while a rental is marked Ongoing, the Renter's latest precise location collected through Active Rental Protection is made available to the Host for that booking so the Host can view the rental's live location; location sharing stops when the booking is no longer Ongoing; (c) Provider business documents are reviewed by Availio administrators for verification purposes only; (d) we may disclose data to law enforcement or government authorities when required by Philippine law (e.g., pursuant to a court order or lawful request); (e) we use third-party service providers (cloud hosting, SMS gateway, map services) who are contractually bound to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
All personal data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure and protected through access controls and security measures appropriate to the service. Location updates used for Active Rental Protection are attached to the relevant booking as its latest known location and update timestamp; Availio does not use this feature to build an advertising location profile. Other data is retained for as long as needed to operate the account, fulfill bookings, resolve disputes, maintain required business records, or comply with applicable law. Upon account deletion, personal data is anonymized or purged subject to records that must be retained for legitimate legal or operational purposes.
Availio uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session tokens) solely to maintain login sessions, store user preferences, and analyze aggregate usage patterns. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. You may clear cookies through your browser or device settings; however, doing so may log you out and affect certain app features.
As a data subject under Philippine law, you have the right to: (a) be informed about how your data is processed; (b) access a copy of your personal data we hold; (c) correct inaccurate or incomplete information; (d) erase or block data that is no longer necessary or was unlawfully processed; (e) object to processing for direct marketing or other purposes; (f) data portability upon request; and (g) file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) at www.privacy.gov.ph. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support.availio@gmail.com. We will respond within 15 business days.
If a Provider (Host) has a serious issue with a Renter — such as theft, unpaid amounts, or damage — they may add that Renter to a Blocklist. A Blocklist entry records the Renter's full name, email address, mobile number, a photograph of the Renter, a photograph of their valid government-issued ID, and the Host's stated reason. THESE ENTRIES ARE VISIBLE TO ALL VERIFIED HOSTS AND ADMINISTRATORS ON AVAILIO, not only to the Host who created them. Availio uses this data for one purpose: allowing Hosts to verify who they are handing a vehicle to. When a booking is submitted, Availio automatically compares the Renter's name, email, and phone number against Blocklist entries; if there is a possible match, the Host is privately alerted to verify identity before accepting. This screening does not automatically cancel or reject any booking, and the screening alert is private to that Host — you are not sent any message telling you that a Host was alerted while reviewing your booking. This is a separate event from being added to the Blocklist: whenever a Host creates a Blocklist entry naming you, Availio notifies you directly at that time so that you can respond. Blocklist entries are reports made by individual Hosts and are NOT verified findings by Availio, and a name match alone is not evidence of wrongdoing. Blocklist entries and all photographs held with them are automatically and permanently deleted 365 days after they are created. You may dispute an entry at any time (see Section 8).
When a Host creates a Blocklist entry naming you, Availio sends you a notice in your Messages inbox at the moment the entry is created, identifying the Host and the reason given, and you may file a dispute directly in the app at no cost. This notice is sent once, when the entry is created. It is distinct from the identity-screening alert described in Section 7, which is shown only to a Host reviewing an individual booking and is never sent to you. While a dispute is open, the entry is marked as contested wherever Hosts can see it. Availio administrators will review your explanation and any evidence you submit, together with the Host's account. If your dispute is upheld, the entry is permanently deleted — including your photograph and ID image — and the Host is notified. Filing a dispute does not affect your ability to book with other Hosts. You may also request erasure of your data at any time under Section 6 above, or complain to the National Privacy Commission.
Availio is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that a minor has registered without parental consent, we will immediately delete the account and associated data.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email at least 7 days before taking effect. Your continued use of Availio after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. The current version is always accessible within the app.
